Yeah no point in using sodder anymore only for those professionals who want their work the last a lifetime. I've investigated more leaks in pro press fittings than I care to count. Surprisingly what's been holding up is testing the SharkBite fittings for the last 10 years. I don't use them myself except for temporary but I haven't had one leak yet in a test area.

I just picked this set up from my local mom and pop discount store. Great to know it is a good product. I picked it up for $50 and it looks like Amazon has it for $85.

Going from sweating copper to that is definitely lowering your lack of craftsmanship

I have use the Viega pureflow system and using those handheld crimp tool was pretty cool but you have to plan how you route your pex lines. The M18 crimp tool makes my life way easier. I'm thinking of buying this copper crimp tool for now and then buy the M12 pro press tool

If you're going to use pool Plus you might as well use shark bite.

Ill be adding a hose bib in my garage. I have an exposed line in my garage going to the outside faucet. Im was going to try and rent the crimp tool but now i may purchase this kit.

I used one and used it on radiators and had no problems

Master Plumber since 1984. Nothing wrong with Pro Press fittings. I have used them for 15 years or so on hydronic piping (40° F Chilled and 180° Heating Water) with 30% glycol to domestic water from wells with 6.2 ph (acidic) with no leaks or call backs. Most leaks on most all piping material are caused by poor installation, installation on degraded piping materials or poor joint preparation. I always clean pipe with Scotch Brite Green pads and wipe dust off with clean cloth before joint assembly. Proper insertion is also a must. Insert fully and mark piping with Sharpie, that way if you are assembling multiple joints you have index markings to warn you a fitting backed out. Also, to the creator of this video, on female adapters, press piping into adapter before threading fitting onto male thread because when you crimp the female adapter it slightly pulls female adapter away from male threads. Might get away with it on a couple of fittings on a water heater but you wouldn't if you were installing a hundred on a large hydronic/potable water system.

Soldering a thing of the past? Wonder about the longevity of press fittings vs soldering? I think I feel more confident in soldering. But maybe I'm wrong

No pex of any kind within the first 18” of a water heaters cold inlet or hot outlet connections, just get 18-24” flex connectors and then your good to go connecting to pex directly after unless your in a state that doesn’t have earthquakes and requires water heaters to be “hard piped” 😎

Supper affordable = $145.00usd on Amazon. Considering its nearest competitor was around $2500 and is currently sitting at $1800, I would agree, this is very accessible for the DIY market. Exciting tool!

That's mainly a wire stripper bud, my opinion i wouldn't use that to crimp because it doesn't have enough leverage for crimping

Guys I bought it because of this video and the other one. It's nice, but honestly - I regret it for one simple reason, dies. The hydrolic crimper has a lot of dies that you can buy, both in awg and mm2. I'm gonna get rid of this one and buy the hydrolic
